As she told to Style Wylde a few days before the show, designer Georgine Ratelband used "folk lores interpreted by the Brothers Grimm." as a starting inspiration for her Fall 2016 Georgine collection. But the result wasn't an overly literal interpretation as one might assume a fairy tale theme would produce. Instead, the two main vignettes within the collection, "Princesses" and "Evil Queens", were portrayed deftly with a good measure of subtlety. Princesses included sweet prints and demure silhouettes paired with more modern edgy coats and jackets, and tons of bold accessories to 'toughen up' the looks while Evil Queens went for all out sex appeal with inky black sheers and lace making major appearances.
The overall effect was very cool, and modern and really showed off Ratelband's talent for using both creativity and intelligence in her design.
