Upon receiving the invitation for the Maikel Tawadros Spring 2016 runway show, I have to admit I was a bit baffled by the event address which was listed as "OnePark Parking Garage." Could this really be a runway show in a parking garage?
Indeed it was, and, as you can see from the images it below, the garage made for an inspired setting for the designer's avant-garde art meets bondage-chic collection. Stiff Leather work and motor-gear inspired accessories (which were created for the collection by Facon Facon Jewelry) paired with sexy cut outs and sleek pants delivered the eye-popping elements of the collection, while my personal favorites were the tone-on-tone dot printed pieces that incorporated rounded volume.
Also, it has to be mentioned this is the second show in Copenhagen where face masks were featured, after seeing masks several times at the Spring Men's shows in New York as well. Can this be a trend for Spring 2016 forming? I guess we'll have to wait and see!
