The great lakes of the North American Mid-West were the unusual inspiration behind the Hanae Mori Manuscrit Spring 2016 collection. This fresh-water theme made for a gorgeous starting point from which designer Yu Amatsu launched his concept exquisitely. Chiffons in soft pastel hues of white, cream, grey and rose felt like gentle waves against the more substantially navy pieces as the show opened. From there, the looks evolved into more color, pattern and texture with fringe, crystals and a flock of classic Hanae Mori butterflies making an appearance. The overall effect was a lush collection teaming with life, energy, and natural beauty.
