Grunge chic rode again, but this time with a curious boarding school twist, at Onitsuka Tiger x Andrea Pompilio Fall 2016 show where plaid skirts and trim blazers mixed it up with maxi dresses and loads of layers that were then topped off with a tiny bit of Harry Potter styling. (yup, we're calling it, the round glasses and striped scarves HAD to be Harry inspired.) While all of this may sound confusing, it was actually astounding to behold. There was truly something appealing for everyone from skate-punk slacker to corporate climbing admin all executed with Pompilio's trademark style wisdom. The pieces flattered as much as they were functional with heavy outerwear and utility shorts holding as much catwalk time as babydoll dresses; and long dreamy skirts seeming somehow sporty when paired with graphic tees.

In short it was a knock-out blockbuster of a show that was easily the most spectacular production of the Fall 2016 season in Tokyo.
