The first major "harajuku street style" show for me at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo Spring 2016, Plastic Tokyo brought an abundance of youth-culture energy to the runway with a a wild mash up of graphics and tongue-in-cheek imagery. Technicolor prints, layered with the brand's trademark "rubberized" fabrics made the show rich in color and texture while the silhouettes were loose and free-flowing.
Adding extra interest to the show, was the wild styling (more of which can be seen in our backstage feature) that included 'loc'd' hair pieces and elaborate safety-pin and embroidered-patch masks.
