The Theatre Products Fall 2016 collection, was a wild fashion ride packed with color, texture and metallic details (see our feature in Runway for more on that.) So to complement the collection Maybelline runway guru Mizu took the beauty look in the complete opposite direction and created a simple clean face with a single element, ultra-brushed up brows, as the focal center. To create the brow Mizu used Maybelline Express Lash Sensational, with excess first removed on a tissue to prevent clumping and smearing, in light strokes onto brows. If needed, brows were then filled in with Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner for added volume. Instead of eyeshadow, Maybelline Baby Lips Gloss was then patted onto eyelids for a glowing shine. The final touch, an ultra light application of Maybelline The Nudes Palette eyeshadow, with the hue depending on model's coloring, was lightly brushed under eyes to create a natural shadow.
The result was highly editorial, especially when paired with the avant-garde hair being created out of sponge inserts on the other side of the backstage room. But the beauty was the real star, and even attracted celebrity fans, as model Laura Ribeiro and model turned fashion designer Ayumi Seto (whom Style Wylde interviewed back in 2014) liked the look so much they asked Mizu to give them make-overs to match the look of the show before heading to their front row seats.
