According to the official show notes the inspiration behind Miguel Vieira's Spring 2017 collection was "Out of Africa.” But instead of doing the expected bright colors, or literally camouflage prints the designer opted for a gorgeous array of boldly graphic, subtly deconstructed, African-inspired prints that felt fresh and young. Creating a cohesive collection with both men's and women's wear is always a challenge, but Vieira handled it deftly adding just the right amount of details to bring his ideas together without everything becoming matchy-matchy. There were tons of pieces to love in the show, but our favorites were two jaw-dropping dresses, one a glittering black and white with an asymmetrical hemline, and the other a monochromatic draped black gown with an off the shoulder neckline.
