Gorgeous, sculptural knits that swirled around the body in an array of shapes and textures made for a spectacular Motohiro Tanji Fall 2015 collection this morning at Hikarie Hall in Shibuya, where Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo kicked off. The silhouettes were elaborate, and included 3 dimensional angles in surprising ways, but still managed to contain a lot real-world wearability a feat that is remarkable when done by the most established designers with the most high tech machines. But for a designer such as Tanji, that has only had his business established for a few years, and does much of the work by hand, it's not short of breath taking.
