Berlin, Nina Hagen, Blixa Bargeld's Einstürzende Neubauten and everything that made up experimental, performance art, driven youth culture of Germany in the 80's and early 90's was the driving inspirational force behind Robert Geller's Spring 2017 collection, Geniale Dilletanten. And, much like the wild cacophony of sound for which Einstürzende Neubauten became known for (if you aren't familiar check out a sample here) the collection was a wild cacophony of prints, bold monochromatics, and photo-inspired details that were nothing short of invigorating.
Always the innovator, Geller has cultivated a large following among fashion industry insiders for constantly pushing himself creatively and never compromising his aesthetic. And as usual it paid off fully, with a knockout collection of inspired pieces that walked the line between avant-garde and real life wearable, with just a touch of Blixa Bargeld's own deliciously dark attitude.
