At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo, the one thing that is 100% certain is that you can never fully know what will be unveiled on the runway. This is definitely the case with the runway presentation writtenafterwards Fall 2015. Radiating joy, humor, happiness, and a sense of hope the show included: a giant rolling globe propelled by a person inside, large groups of kids, teens, and adults whom sang Michael Jackson's Heal the World, as they smiled and waved to the audience, and 2 walking globes (one with an alien on top, one with a superhero) all of which were met with cheers from the audience.

The clothes themselves were totally adorable, and according to designer Yoshikazu Yamagata inspired by iconic 1980-90s era Benetton ads done by Oliviero Toscani; they were bright, optimistic and easily imagined on the backs of men, women and children all over the globe. But in truth, the aspect of the show that will probably last longest in the minds of everyone in attendance was the epic struggle of the person inside the rolling globe to maneuver back behind the curtain as the show ended. The struggle, which was aided by loud directional instructions (GO RIGHT! NOW GO LEFT!) from the entire, usually silent, media riser took several minutes to conclude after the show had officially ended, but was rewarded with a DEAFENING CHEER from the entire audience when it finally met its successful completion.

All in all it was the single most joyful event I have ever seen at any fashion week ever.
