Tokyo: Hanae Mori Manuscrit Spring 2018

Florabunda

An enormous bouquet of fresh flowers served as an oversized centerpiece as deconstructed floral prints made their way around the runway presentation space at the Hanae Mori Manuscrit Spring 2018 show.

The entire space at Omotesando Hills in Tokyo was perfumed with the light fresh scent of just cut flowers due to the 20+ foot tall flower installation created in the center of the 'runway' for the Hanae Mori Manuscrit Spring 2018 show. This installation was the first hint for the arriving audience members that the show would be something special, and, something botanically inspired. Both proved true as the show began and designer Yu Amatsu sent his pretty fashion confections, many of which incorporated vivid floral patterns, around the room one at a time and leaving models in a presentation formation on the runway for the remainder of the show. The overall effect was awe-inspiring for the work's sheer gorgeousness and for the elongated time in which the critics, buyers, and fashion fans were permitted to view the pieces.
