The confusion and emotional distress of adolescence was the inspiration behind designer Keisuke Yoshida Fall 2017 collection for his eponymous label, which showed earlier in the week in Tokyo. Multi-layered looks featuring a wide variety of fabrics from cozy fleece, to soft cotton, to stiff denim all brought out a feeling of nostalgic melancholy while a wild mash up or silhouettes supplied a feeling of discord. Some of the looks were definitely more wearable, and overall more successful than others, but the overall impression of the collection was one of great creativity, and one that speaks to a bright future for the young designer.
