Luxe in detail with a strong folk art feel, the 5-knot Fall collection, which opened Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo on Monday morning, was a delight to behold. A far cry from the expected minimalism one often associates with Japanese design, designers Ena Kizawa and Taketo Nishino embraced the decorative flourishes with gusto. Inspired by a recent trip to Morocco, the pair added touches of emboridery, velvet and sheers to a warm palette of earthen hued pieces for a vintage middle eastern feel.
