Glamorous gowns that are red-carpet perfect are no new thing to Bibhu Mohapatra. The designer has been making a name for himself at award shows and star studded galas for many seasons. But for Fall 2013, Mohapatra's talents really sparkled not only in the formal wear arena but also with a variety of edgy-fashion forward day looks that pushed the boundaries of what we've come to expect from this rising star.
Inspired by Man Ray’s photographs of muses Kiki du Montparnasse and Lee Miller, Mohapatra produced an electrifying, hyper-arty collection that balanced graphic black and white motifs with architectural details such as basket-weave hats, structured jackets and Dada-ist inspired shoes.
Here are a few of our favorite looks from the show.
