Dark and sexy, with references to gothic architecture and Catholic symbolism applied with the lightness of a lingerie designer's hand, the Katie Gallagher Spring 2017 collection "Eclipse" was exactly what fans of the designer have come to love. It was simple, refined, monochromatic and a bit risque with a few pieces clearly meant to be worn either layered up or only in private company. Elements that can appear heavy-handed when used in excess such as tulle, swiss dot, lace and embroidery appliques were done well and avoided looking costumey. Still the most eye-catching looks in the collection had to be the floor length 'duster' jackets with cut outs that brought a breath-taking drama to the collection and were exquisitely executed.
