Staged at Bygningskulturens Hus, which was built as a Navy Pigeskole (Navy School) and listed as an architectural landmark by the Danish historical society for its stunning example of 19th century function and form in institutional buildings, the Maikel Tawadros Spring 2017 collection was a move towards a softer, more fluid aesthetic for the designer. Silk charmeuse, furs, and sheer knits were punctuated by only the occasional use of leather and brocade for a hyper feminine appeal. As always is the case with Maikel Tawadros, fantastic accessories and accents were a big part of the show including neck-pieces and nose pieces made from porcupine quills, and elaborate leather brooches that came across surprisingly light and airy, and a variety of fur scarves.
