New York: Backstage at Jonathan Simkhai Fall 2016

The atmosphere backstage at the Jonathan Simkhai Fall 2016 runway show was electrified as the teams from TIGI Catwalk Creatives (lead by Thomas Osborn) , Essie Nails, and Maybelline New York worked to pull together the "frozen goddess" hair and beauty look that paired with the designers inspiration for the season.

“This look was inspired by the idea of a natural, windswept feel. We wanted to keep the front of the hair soft with some “frozen”” pieces and have a Nordic knot down the back. The look is strong, yet not fussy,” Osborn told Style Wylde backstage. "It's undone, but not without details, there is still precision and a lot of thought put into it, but it doesn't look hard or over styled, which is actually sometimes harder to do then a perfect 'red carpet' style.

Here is how they created the look:

Prep dry hair with CATWALK by TIGI Bodifying Spray and blow dry with fingers in a backwards and upwards motion

Next, using a flat iron, pull small sections of hair backwards at the crown for a “frozen” illusion

Then, rake hair backwards and create a knot at the nape of the neck, secure with an elastic. Create a second knot and secure with a clear elastic

Finish with CATWALK by TIGI Work It Hairspray and Camera Ready Shine Spray.
