New York: Backstage at Son Jung Wan Spring 2014

There is just something magic that happens when you blend the teams from Shiseido Japan and Privé Salons together for a runway hair and beauty look. All the drama, chaos, and stress that seems ubiquitous at the collections is completely absent with these teams and instead tranquility, artistry, and good old fashioned show-stopping beauty reign supreme.

Knowing this, Style Wylde jumped at the chance to get a sneak peek at the creations the two teams brought together for the Son Jung Wan Spring 2014 Collection.

The beauty look was kept simple and pretty with Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Foundation smoothed over skin to even out imperfections, with highlighting used on the brow bone and cheeks. To give the face a high-powered pop a bold line of Shiseido smoothing lip color in bright coral was swiped on along the lashline. A nude lip completed the look.

Across the room, at the Privé Salon area, things were a little more complicated.

Hair was pulled back into a smooth low pony, with a section wrapped around the base to hide the elastic holder. From there, one section at a time was separated out and crimped using an iron.

Finally, using a rattail comb and plenty of Privé Salon Firm Holding Texture spray, hair was back-combed into an impressive pouf, for a look that was ultra-modern.
