It's always an immense pleasure to experience the serene environment of the A Détacher backstage prep. Unlike so many other shows where frenetic stressful energy rules, A Détacher designer Mona Kowalska's own creative yet calm personality seems to permeate the room making a happy, positive vibe for all those at work.
And the work, which has been done for as many seasons as SW has been shooting by the exquisitely talented team from Shiseido Japan, lead by key artist Miyako Okamoto, is nothing short of breath taking. This season, drawing on inspirations from French and Italian cinema with an extreme avant-garde twist, the teams built a hair and beauty look that was gravity defying. Sky-high wigs that piled atop models' heads in elaborate braids, and dramatic extreme cat-eye make-up perfectly complimented the collection.
