The scene backstage at the Libertine Spring 2015 runway show was almost as crazy as the scene ON the runway just an hour or two later (more on that here.) The backstage area seemed to pulse with a party vibe as more people than we've ever seen in that tiny space, happily danced around each other as they brushed out models hair, painted nails, and dabbed on eyeliner under the watchful eyes of what felt like hundreds of photographers and film crews who all wanted that absolute perfect backstage shot! (One of whom, Style Wylde caught, hilariously separating the fabric walls of the space and 'peeking in' from outside to get a glimpse-see gallery below!)
Luckily, amidst the merry melee, Style Wylde caught up with Catwalk by TiGi 's Global creative Director Nick Irwin who gave us a little low down on the look for the show.
"It's a morning after look" Irwin explained. "She's been out partying, dancing, having sex doing all the things she's not supposed to do. It's inspired both by the London girls of the dirty sixties and by 90s ravers. It has some height and volume, but it's not Bardot, it's more grungy and scrunched."
Here is the step by step how to:
Prep the hair by applying CATWALK® by TIGI® Session Series Transforming Dry Shampoo to create a piece-y yet soft texture
Lightly spritz the CATWALK® by TIGI® Bodifying Spray at the roots and messily massage with fingers to add lift to the crown and then on the surface of hair to create a light, effortless bounce without the weight
Use fingers to scrunch the hair and add uneven texture
Finish with a touch of the CATWALK® by TIGI® Session Series Work It Hairspray
