New York: Backstage at Tess Giberson Spring 2015

Delicate, art-gallery worthy knits and graceful silhouettes that are never fussy or dowdy are the hallmarks of designer Tess Giberson's work. To best emphasize the collections she sends down the runway, the designer always teams up with hair and beauty pros who are known for a similar aesthetic. This team, which for as long as we've been following always includes runway-beauty guru Dick Page Creative Director of Shiseido, got a high-tech injection for the Spring 2015 season as Giberson tapped haircare revolutionary Ward Stegerhoek co-founder and lead stylist for Living Proof to tackle the model's tresses.

Style Wylde caught up with Ward Stegerhoek (pictured below top left) and the Living Proof team backstage to get the lowdown on the products used, and the look they were creating.

"I was inspired by Palm Springs from the early 70's and the artificial perfection of the backyard pool lifestyle mixed up with a natural organic element. " Giberson told the Living Proof team during a pre-fashion week meeting. This inspiration was a perfect match for the company which is co-owned by one of America's eternally favorite California beauties, actress Jennifer Aniston. To execute the look, Stegerhoek and his team went for a classic beach-bombshell side pony with tons of texture. To get this loose, grungy but not stiff or sticky look the team used Living Proof Instant Texture Mist

Instant Texture Mist is a really cool product that, as explained to SW backstage, "has 3-D technology powered by magnetic texturizers plus a patented Volumizing Molecule, this combination delivers revivable body, definition and fiber separation plus it's revivable for up to 48 hours after styling. What does that mean to us non-scientists? Simply, this soft natural, carefree look had major staying power, and could have carried the models through multi-days of highstyle, now if only it hadn't been undone at their next show!

While the high-tech hair was being perfected on one side of the room, Dick Page and Shiseido were doing their own take on Palm-Beach-Artifice-Meets-Nature chic.

"Dick Page took the inspiration and translated it into a look that features an iridescent blue eye and warm skin." the Shiseido team told us backstage.

Products used to create this subtly colorful look included:

On the Eye: The sparkly, “inky” blue liner from the Sparkling Party Palette (NEW! for Fall 2014) was blended around the eye and topped with the pale iridescent blue from the Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Static (BL215). Eyes were finished with the Perfect Mascara Full Definition in black, applied to upper lashes only.

On the Brows: Filled in brows with a variety of Shimmering Cream Eye Colors in Caviar (BK912), Sable (BR709), Leather (BR306), Sunshower (OR313) and Meadow (BE204).

On the Face/Cheek: Custom color created for each model using Bronzer and Luminizing Satin Face Color.

Finally, rounding out the look was a subtle matte nail created by Jin Soon.

Nail artists began by filing and cleaning nails, removing all traces of polish and oil residue. They then applied JINsoon Power Coat, a base coat to protect the nail.  Next, two coats of JINsoon Kookie White were applied followed by  JINsoon Matte Make.
